Problem Based Learning (short: PBL) is a learning method which focuses on teaching students theory by working on a specific case, following specific steps.
Aim of PBL is to involve the student actively in the learning process and train analytical, research and cooperation skills.
Both Maastricht University and the University of Groningen make extensive use of PBL in their (pre)medical programmes.
